John Parkin

John Parkin is an Innovation and Business Development Manager with the University of Leeds, where he supports researchers to connect with other organisations to ensure that their work has an impact beyond academia. As part of this work he helps the University secure funding and build supportive partnerships.

John's early career included working in the voluntary sector with drugs services membership organisation DrugScope and Criminal Justice rehabilitation charity SOVA, before working as a homelessness officer with Southwark Youth Offending Team. He has led small teams in local authorities and higher education, has a MSc in Senior Leadership and is a Chartered Manager with CMI.
