Who are Youth Access members?
young person and staff in a YIACS service

The Youth Access network includes local and national voluntary organisations, as well as some local authority managed provision.

Staff and skills

Many of Youth Access members employ a combination of trained paid and volunteer staff to deliver their services. These include information and advice workers, counsellors, group, support and outreach workers, and allows an approach which is holistic, multi-skilled, and flexible to meet the wide range of young people’s needs.

The under one roof model

These multi–disciplinary teams are able to provide a range of services to young people in an ‘under one roof’ model of provision. This enables young people to get help with legal rights based problems such as housing and benefit problems alongside help for emotional and mental health difficulties within a therapeutic counselling relationship.

Shared Values and Principles

Youth Access members offer varied and individual services, but in joining the network, agree to provide services according to Youth Access's nationally agreed values and core principles. See the 'Our Values and Principles' section on this website for more information.
