Co-ordinators - Putting together a tender for "talking therapies"

Event Type: Training

Dates / Venue:

24 - 25 November - Woodbrooke Centre, Birmingham

This residential event is aimed at Managers/Coordinators of YIACS that offer Advice, Counselling and other Support Services; who are interested in delivery services as part of the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies agenda*. The event will assist managers to put together a formal tender for talking therapies.

We will focus on:
• Policy changes that may impact on tenders for talking therapies
• Understanding the knowledge and experience, capacity and organisation standing required for an agency/partnership to be considered to submit a formal tender
• The tendering process
• The experience of YIACS who have submitted a formal tender
• GPs and Local Authorities role in commissioning

*The Coalition has identified talking therapies as one of its public health priorities in its DH Structural Reform plans and is consulting on (4.6) ‘Ensuring greater access to talking therapies to reduce long term NHS Costs’. Please note participants will be updated on policy changes that impact on commissioning requirements and health priorities.

The meeting will be facilitated by:
Catherine Wilson, Development Manager Counselling Services and Amandeep Hothi, Counselling Services Development Officer
