Using the Advice Outcomes Toolkit in your Agency
Event Type: Training
Suitable for:
Youth advice agencies who have already decided to use Youth Access’ newly revised Youth Advice Outcomes Toolkit to measure the outcomes they’re achieving for young people.
(NB: This course is only available to agencies that are members of Youth Access)
Aims:
This workshop aims to assist agencies to work out how best to undertake your youth advice monitoring exercise in your specific agency by bringing relevant staff together to discuss the practical and methodological issues involved.
Course structure:
A 2 ½ hour interactive workshop involving relevant staff in your organisation (usually managers, advice practitioners and admin. staff)
Learning outcomes:
By the end of the workshop, participants will:
- Share a vision of what the agency is seeking to achieve through a youth advice outcome monitoring exercise
- Identify the most appropriate methodology for your agency to employ, including
- whether to conduct a one-off snapshot survey or embed outcomes monitoring on an ongoing basis
- how many users to survey
- how best to select your sample
- Recognise practical and resource issues, such as deciding which members of staff will be responsible for different tasks and the resources that may be required for the exercise
- Be familiar with the forms that you will use
- Have considered how best to integrate the use of the Youth Advice Outcomes Toolkit alongside your existing user feedback and statistical monitoring systems
