Suitable for:
Youth information/advice workers who want to develop their skills and knowledge in delivering money advice to young people.
Aim:
To give a greater awareness and confidence to engage young people in financial literacy.
Course structure:
A half day workshop for advisers, providing toolkits, skills, knowledge and confidence to work more proactively with young people in money matters.
Learning outcomes:
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Appreciate the factors that influence young people in their attitudes and behaviour to money
- Enable young people to understand financial capability
- Enable young people to make informed choices about saving and borrowing money
- Assist young people in effectively managing their debts
- Advise on when, where and how to refer young people for money advice
Trainer:
Helen Stollar, Youth Access’s in-house advice trainer. She has worked as Benefits Trainer at LASA, Advice Manager at a University Student Advice Service and is a trained counsellor
