Event Type: Training Dates / Venue: 23rd and 24th September - Youth Access, London Course structure: This is a two-day training using interactive training methods, including trainer input, small group discussions, and the use of a workbook containing background information, frameworks, exercises and action planning tools. The training workbook is designed to be used both during the training and afterwards to enable effective implementation in the work place.
Training outcomes
By the end of the workshop participants will have:
- Increased their understanding of the purpose and elements of counselling assessment
- Explored how counselling assessment can fit with the young person centred ethos of their agency
- Identified what constitutes good practice in counselling assessment
- Considered and examined assessment practice and its supervision in their agency through the implementation of the Youth Access assessment standard and the BACP ethical framework
- Identified and further developed the skills, abilities and theoretical knowledge needed to undertake effective and collaborative counselling assessment with young people
