Wednesday 10th May: Training opportunity for counsellors

Counselling Training Event: Coaching Young People

When: Wednesday 10th May 2017, 10-4pm
Where: Youth Access offices, 1-2 Taylors Yard, 67 Alderbrook Road, London, SW12 8AD

Are you a counsellor interested in adding coaching to your offer?

Youth Access is hosting an experiential development day aimed at counsellors who may already use coaching tools, but are looking to formalise their approach.

Through the training you will identify your existing transferable skills and experience and take away coaching tools to use in your practice. You will also be informed about current coaching competencies and support structures.

By the end of the professional development day you will be able to:

  1. Recognise where you might be currently on a continuum of counselling and coaching
  2. Identify transferable skills from your current practice which potentially form a foundation for developing a coaching approach
  3. Take away some coaching tools for your current practice, which you will have experienced working with on the day.
  4. Identify your next steps in terms of moving into coaching young people

There are significant differences between counselling and coaching approaches, but depending on your theoretical orientation and previous experience, you are likely to be able to identify a swathe of shared territory between them.

The event takes place on Wednesday 10th May 2017 and will be delivered by Carolyn Mumby, a qualified coach, therapist and trainer with over 20 years experience in facilitation.

Places are £80 for those with a full, PAID membership, and £100 for non-members.
