Young People in Mind – listening to young people’s voices

Complementing the YPiM - Access project is another one year project: 'Young People in Mind – listening to young people’s Voices'.

YPiM – Voices is funded by NHS England and will be supporting young people in four areas of the NHS South region: Bristol, Cornwall, Devon and Southampton to have a voice in the local planning and commissioning decisions impacting on their health. Young people will also connect with the work of the NHS Youth Forum supported by British Youth Council.

No Limits, Southampton

Is a charity which offers free and confidential information, advice, counselling, support and advocacy for children and young people under 26 who live in Southampton and Hampshire. They are working with commissioners in Southamptin to ensure that young people's voices inform a review into all mental health services in the area.

Off the Record, Bristol

Have a wide range of services and projects delivered from a variety of venues across Bristol and South Gloucestershire. They intend to build on their existing participation programmes to ensure young people’s voice continues to be heard locally.

Young People Cornwall (YPC)

Is a well-established County-wide youth work provider, positioned well locally, with a growing reputation regionally and nationally. YPC aim to build on participation work that has already been established, including providing one to one sessions with an information/advice worker, and using a short film to empower young people to take control of their own care and understand any treatment.

Young Devon

Is a progressive charity that exists to change the odds in favour of young people. They will build on their work leading young people’s participation, as part of the Children and Young People’s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies Programme (CYP IAPT) in Devon, Torbay and across the south west region. And also work with the CQC to support young people such as Children in Care and care leavers to have a voice and role in the inspection of Health services.
