London Youth Advice Forum Launched
25 January, 2005
Since July 2004 Youth Access and the Law Centres Federation have been jointly organising meetings of London-based Youth Information, Advice and Counselling services and Law Centres with a common interest in developing rights-based advice services for young people.
Initially restricted to a small number of London boroughs where agencies were already actively working to develop Youth Access Law Centre-style services, the group agreed at its last meeting to rename itself the London Youth Advice Forum and open itself up to agencies across London. The purpose of the forum is to:
- co-ordinate youth advice developments across the capital
- influence London and national policy-makers
- facilitate networking within and between boroughs and sectors
- share experiences and good practice
- facilitate collaborative working and joint funding bids
- co-ordinate the collation and dissemination of social policy evidence and consultation responses
The forum is currently only open to members of Youth Access or the Law Centres Federation. If you would like further information, please contact james@youthaccess.org.uk
