Member Profile: One Stop Shop, Coventry - 'invaluable'

09 March, 2010

one stop shop coventry

The One Stop Shop has been providing information, advice, counselling, sexual health services and other support since November 2000. The services they offer have been developed through consultation with young people and have been delivered by Coventry Youth Service, Connexions Coventry and Warwickshire and the PCT, in response to the emerging needs of client groups.

At One Stop Shop young people can expect to be treated and respected as an individual. This is reflected by the differing levels of support that is offered. A young person might decide to browse and take information without any help, receive one to one support, or enrol on one of the many courses or group sessions. As one happy user put it, “The One Stop Shop has been invaluable to me throughout my years growing up as a young person in Coventry; the staff are always friendly, and willing to help you quickly and efficiently with whatever problem I may have, from help writing my CV to getting free condoms. Many thanks to all” E M

Young Person’s steering Group

The One Stop Shop welcomes young people’s views on how the centre is run and encourages them to get involved in order to improve the delivery and setting of services. To this end a steering group has been set up to develop and feedback their ideas.
