Introduction to Quality Standards in the New Commissioning Context
Aim:
In a challenging funding environment, in which new funding and commissioning structures are emerging for youth counselling services, this workshop aims to explore some key issues in the relationship between new structures and priorities and the quality of youth counselling services.
Target audience:
Counselling service managers and others with responsibility for the management and funding of youth counselling services.
The workshop will:
- Provide an overview of the emerging policy environment impacting on the funding and commissioning of youth counselling services and the relationship with standards and quality with particular reference to Public Health and Mental Health policy
- Identify existing and likely key markers of quality in youth counselling provision
- Offer an overview of the range and choice of quality assurance processes
Learning outcomes:
- Improved understanding of the emerging policy, funding and commissioning environment for youth counselling
- Increased awareness of key quality issues for own service practice and issues for future service development
The workshop will be led by Youth Access' Director Barbara Rayment
