The Times highlights Youth Access' work on legal aid

The Times has published an article focusing on young people currently falling though gaps in the legal aid system, the need for specialised young people’s legal advice services, and the threat to existing services by the proposed overhaul of the legal aid system. The article cites evidence from Youth Access and highlights Youth Access member Streetwise Community Law Centre’s pioneering approach and the difference it makes for this vulnerable client group.

Future of legal aid – Youth Access responds
Youth Access has responded to a major consultation on the future of legal aid by highlighting the threat to young people’s access to justice posed by the government’s proposals. Our response argues that targeted advice services based in youth agencies get better outcomes for vulnerable young people and demands consultation with young people themselves over the proposals.
