What Youth Access Asks of a Green Paper for Young People 1

The following speech was delivered by Barbara Rayment, Director of Youth Access to the recent Young People Now Conference on the Green Paper held 18th March 2005. In the absence of the Green Paper, the focus of the panel debate on advice and guidance services during which this brief input was offered, concentrated largely on the future of the Connexions Service. This input was an attempt to raise some of the issues that require a stronger strategic drive, if we are to meet areas of young people’s needs, which remain inadequately addressed by current policy.
