Youth Access responds to Treasury consultation
14 June, 2005
Youth Access has responded to 'Supporting young people to achieve: towards a new deal for skills'. The Treasury consultation paper, which sets out the Government's vision for a simplified financial support system for 16-19 year olds, had contained the proposal to improve benefits advice delivery through co-location of Jobcentre Plus advisers and Connexions Personal Advisers.
Our response argues that young people must have access to independent sources of advice if they are to obtain the benefits to which they are entitled. The consultation closes on 30th September 2004. Youth Access members are encouraged to strengthen the youth advice sector's response by emailing your views to: financialsupport.consultation@hm-treasury.gsi.gov.uk
