Youth Access
NATIONAL ADVISORY GROUP
Do you want to be more involved in helping to steer national developments in young people’s information, advice and counselling services?
Youth Access is looking for new members to join its National Advisory Group. Only Youth Access members are eligible for nomination. While we are particularly keen to receive nominations from members in particular areas (see below), more important is the ability to commit some time and support to the work of the Group.
What would you have to do?
- Contribute your views and advice on the range of policy and practice issues involved in supporting and improving the delivery of YIACS
- Comment on Youth Access progress on meeting its strategic aims and operational plan and targets
- Be involved in consultations on Youth Access’ responses to Government policy and proposals
- Help Youth Access to identify gaps in services and new opportunities
- Help shape Youth Access work and its future vision and plans
- Attend three one day meetings each year, mostly in London (Youth Access pays travel expenses).
How might it benefit you?
- Increase your understanding of the national context, helping you to better locate the development of your service at a local level
- Meet with others with similar experience and commitment to improving services for young people
- A chance to dream and have BIG ideas without worrying about the financial and employment implications
