The What? Centre: Better bidding processes

8 Jul 2022

The What? Centre, a Youth Access member serving Dudley and Stourbridge, shares how it has identified and filled the gap for better bidding processes.

To build capacity to bid for NHS commissioners and other contracts, The What? Centre did two separate things.

  1. Firstly, about three years ago, with a number of other local charities, it formed an LLP (Limited Liability Partnership), known as The Dudley LLP.
    1. Previously the partnership members had sometimes felt somewhat overlooked in bidding processes
    2. The formation of this consortium helped them to build their profile and have a stronger voice in developing provision for all age groups in the Borough and the Black Country (for The What? Centre this applied specifically to children and young people aged 9-25 years)
  2. Secondly, the What? Centre has recently formed a mental health consortium. Comprised of four charities and social enterprises, all of which are specialist mental health organisations, the consortium acts as a consultancy organisation and aims to advocate not only for the individual member organisations, but for the whole VCSE sector involved in mental health support in the Dudley & Stourbridge Borough.
