Along with our community of 133 members, we have continued to advocate for the Youth Access model of support, which stands for young people’s right to access high-quality, youth advice and counselling services in their local area. Services that offer wrap-around support to help young people with whatever challenges they face as they move into adulthood. While also supporting young people to campaign for services and systems that meet their needs and fulfil their rights.
This year, through our members, approximately 485,482 young people received support from a local youth advice and counselling service.
Member engagement also soared, with a 47% increase compared to last year, demonstrating the power of working collectively for change. Together, we saw three political parties commit to community mental health support for youth people in their manifestos, a huge step towards long-term change.
Young people have been at the heart of everything we’ve achieved. From co-designing our Youth Action Pilot, where confidence and knowledge in social action grew by over 20%, to shaping the Blueprint for Young Futures hubs and building the Guiding Principles for Youth-Led Social Action, their voices are driving campaigns and influencing national policy.
Thank you to every member, partner, and young person who has helped us champion services, drive equity and improve experiences for members and young people this year.
