The 10 year plan acknowledges the significant gaps in support within NHS mental health services and we welcome the investment in rolling out Mental Health Support Teams to 100% of schools and colleges.
Whilst important, this is only part of the puzzle to addressing the alarming mental health crisis amongst young people. Many young people do not attend mainstream education. Other young people who do, say they want support outside of school settings, and access to services even once they have left education.
The Government's flagship Young Futures Hub programme - promising drop-in mental health support in every community - has the potential to fill this critical gap.
For Young Futures Hubs to succeed, they must centre young people's voices, build on existing expertise and community provision, and provide accessible support for all young people transitioning into adulthood.
