Tender for freelance consultant:
Online session design and delivery for Youth Access

Youth Access is looking to hire an individual or agency to deliver a package of online sessions to collect personal stories from young people who use youth information, advice and counselling services (YIACS) in our member organisations.

We champion the need for a mental health system that respects young people’s mental health rights, based on what human rights say they are entitled to and what young people say they need. Led by the voices of young people, these personal stories will demonstrate how Youth Access members are meeting young people’s mental health rights, and thus, the crucial role that the YIACS model plays in a rights-respecting mental health system. They will provide a key basis from which to develop our policy and campaigns work, led by what young people want and what we know works.

This project will take a collaborative, member-led approach that tailors the personal story collection to the needs of YIACS and the young people they work with. As such, the consultant will be asked to develop a menu of options to support members to collect personal stories from the young people they support, including allowing YIACS to deliver the personal story sessions themselves to young people, or have sessions delivered by the consultant and / or Youth Access staff.

We are looking for an organised and passionate individual or agency to coordinate a coherent package of online sessions and supporting material. The successful candidate will have significant experience in developing and delivering engaging, interactive activities and training, along with the ability to share knowledge and ideas in an inclusive, participatory way with young people.
