20 Feb 2024

An exciting opportunity for members to join Anna Freud and AT-Autism's ground-breaking autism train-the-trainer programme with NHS England.

We're thrilled to offer members the opportunity to come together with fellow youth advice and counselling service staff to take part in Anna Freud's and AT-Autism's National Autism Trainer Programme (NATP) with NHS England.

This innovative course is co-designed, co-produced and co-delivered with autistic people and promotes an experience-sensitive, trauma-informed approach. The course will give you an understanding of autistic mental health and the barriers experienced by autistic people. You will be tutored by national experts including clinical tutors, academics and autistic people some of whom are academics and their family members.

The course is suitable for any staff who currently work or may work with diagnosed or undiagnosed autistic people and we encourage multiple staff members per organisation to attend so that you can work together to action your learnings after the course is completed. Any organisation in receipt of any NHS funding is welcome to attend.

We're offering Youth Access members the opportunity to join the programme alongside peers in similar roles in either July or October 2024. The course will take place over four training days (09:00-17:00) over four weeks. If you're interested in joining please register your interest using the link below and let us know which cohort you'd prefer to be part of.
