Meet the services shaped by young people

For 50 years, Youth Access has been championing and supporting youth advice and counselling services. Our national network is formed of brilliant members up and down the country that have been operating in their community for decades, delivering a cohesive range of support under one roof, responding to the needs of young people in their local areas.

Thanks to the success of the Fund the Hubs campaign, there is now huge interest in the hub model, and rightly so. We know this model of provision is effective, wide reaching and importantly, it is what young people tell us they want. We are often asked, what is it about Hubs that makes them so impactful? We think it is important for people asking this question to experience it for themselves.

That's why, in addition to continuing our efforts to support member visits and opportunities for young people, we decided to produce a video to capture some of the incredible work taking place across the country, and our Communications Lead, Jessica, was up for the challenge.

We visited 42nd Street in Manchester, Sheffield Futures, ARC in Wokingham and No5 Young People in Reading. We spent time listening to young people and practitioners, capturing their stories and weaving them together to present the big picture. The result is a true celebration of local youth advice and counselling services up and down the country.

We have since shared a preview at our recent parliamentary event to key government stakeholders, and at a Children and Young People's conference event. The passion of practitioners and joy of youth-led services shines through and serves as an impactful showcase of our members services.

We'd like to thank every young person who shared their story with Jess and put into words so perfectly what can often feel impossible to convey. Similarly, thank you to every staff member who took time out of their busy schedules to meet with us and speak so openly - and often so humbly - about the work you do.

We want to communicate this message, delivered through the voices of young people and services far and wide.
