The advice needs of young people
Briefing paper
A Travesty of Justice summarises our findings from an analysis of figures from the Legal Problems Resolution Survey.
Previously unpublished government data reveal a generation excluded from legal aid following cuts, with young people and vulnerable groups disproportionately impacted by the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012 (LASPO).
This briefing was submitted along with the full report, written by Balmer & Pleasence and commissioned by Youth Access, to the Ministry of Justice's post-implementation review of LASPO and sent to key parliamentarians ahead of a backbench debate on legal aid.
