Using social prescribing for young adults

In this briefing paper, we explore the impact good social prescribing models can have on young adults.

While social prescribing has been around for decades, it has come to the fore more recently thanks to the NHS Long Term Plan, which outlined social prescribing as key to the NHS’s commitment to a model of more person-centred, integrated care. This nationwide initiative will have broad implications – and offer opportunities – for youth services in the voluntary and community sector.

This briefing is for service managers and practitioners in Youth Access youth advice and counselling services, and in other voluntary sector services for young people, with varying levels of understanding of social prescribing.

This briefing paper is available in the Members area, the home of exclusive curated content for youth advice and counselling service hubs.
