Would you like to take part in a research project? ‘How do Youth information, advice & counselling services (YIACS) work to support care leavers mental health and wellbeing?’

Hi, My name is Laura, I am a researcher at Cardiff Uni.

My PhD project is looking at how early support hubs and the YIACS model work to support care leavers mental health and wellbeing throughout transition to adulthood.

The aim is to find out how these services work for care leavers. How care leavers feel that these services engage them, work with them and support them in achieving better mental health and wellbeing. I am looking to consult with and interview practitioners within YIACS and hub model services, as well as young people care leavers aged 16-25 involved in services.

I want to hear your thoughts and opinions on ‘How Youth Information Advice and Counselling’ service (YIACS) work to support care leavers with their mental health and wellbeing’.

Once complete I hope this will help young people access better mental health and wellbeing support through improved practice approaches learnt from the research, and add to an evidence base for YIACS and hub model services.

Do you run a service specifically for care leavers? Or do you work closely with care leavers within your open access service? If so please do get in touch to participate.

More info is provided on the info and consent forms, please drop me an email; Mayhewmanistrel1@cardiff.ac.uk
